Happiness

When a new shirt or pair of shoes come out in the Nike stores we may see an abundance of people walking around with the new style on. When people view others apparel and see what's popular we start to change our style and apparel without even realizing it. We all have come accustomed to change in our lives that it sometimes doesn't even faze us.
Change can make a person happy, or it can cause a lot of stress. We might get happy for awhile when we buy those shoes we've been wanting for weeks or we might get stressed and frustrated because your new boss is not open to others opinions. We change our styles because its what makes us happy. When we see people wearing the new Air Forces it makes us feel good that we can wear them too and fit in. Change happens to everyone.

  1. I agree with what you wrote in that I also think a lot of popular culture trends have to do with peer pressure as we seem to be happier when we fit in with a group of people, and more frustrated when we don't. I liked your reference to the "latest Nike shoes" and how some people don't realize they're even following a trend; sometimes they just see something all their friends are wearing, find it attractive, and buy it for themselves so they may also enjoy it.

  2. As a marketing major I find your post very interesting. It's amazing what people will spend their money on to achieve natural happiness. So many people spend vast amount of money to be part of popular culture and fit in. With how quickly the trends change there will always be a need in our society to buy new things.
